refrigerator section does not work

My husband and I have bought many items and appliance from Sears.  We have always felt that they would last, and that is why we have always returned to by products from Sears.  I am very disappointed in the refrigerator my mother and father in-law bought it a house warming gift we have had it 18 month and the refrigerator section went out on us.  Since of course the warranty is out we now have to foot the bill of over 200. I would like you to know that just two weeks before it went out, we bought a front end washing machine from Sears because we trusted in you.  At this time I am so disappointed in Sears that I will not buy another product from you.  I believe that a refrigerator should lasted longer then 18 month.

Better Business Bureau,,,,,find the number for your area,,,call and see what they can do---there is also a "lemon law" in some states----don't give up. And if all else fails----calls sears and say you want them to take it back and replce it with a new one--even threaten with an attorney if you have to-doesn't mean you'll use an attorney--but they won't know that-this is just plain not right

You might also contact the CEO of Kenmore---adress your envelope like this---Kenmore--Attn: CEO---this does gets results

Do you have an exact address of the CEO?  I am researching about this.  I had problems too with my Kenmore elite Ref.  It has been repaired probably 5X since I bought it 18 months ago, ice maker and water dispenser not working, shelves cracked, door does not close tightly.  Now the refrigerator area is not cooling again, and its already out of warranty.  Good thing we  have a fridge in the basement (that we also bought from Sears, got broken w/in 3 years & fixed) to store all our foods/dairies.  WILL not buy any appliances from Sears again, EVER!!!

Had the same problem, it cost me $273 for the repair. The part was 51 and the irony is I had the exact part in my hand when I was looking for a problem. It took me 10 minutes to get at the part and for that they charged me 217 for labor. I have filied complaints and looking for more people to push a class action against these people.
