Cancelled membership but still kept billing

This club is notorious for doing this crap to people,my son while away out of state at the MTI tech school---signed up for their club---he also signed his friend up and paid his friends start up fees on HID debit card---so when the friend  2 months later moved away---my son was responsible for ALL of the bill,,,,,,,,,,,,,,whihc meant TWO memberships,,,,,,,,,,,i contacted them--and they said since HIS card was used to pay tat first fees---he is liable for IT ALL,,,,,,,,,,,,,,what an ugly thing for them to do o my son who had hardly nothing to live in, and living in Phopenix,Arizona is not cheap
Not only do I think Bally fiyness runs their business tricky--but i think MTI Tech should WARN their students about this issue--we as parents try to do what we can for our kids while they are off to schoool outside their home state--but wiht CROOKS like these--they haven't a chnace and we have no clue as to whats going on,,,by the way because MY NAME was not on the fitness account they at FIRST refused to speak to me,,,UNTIL i hreatened to call in an Attorney

my son tried many,many times to cancel his account--they denied he tried to cancel and said it was too late to do anything . Even after he moved back home to our state---they kept after him to pay it all---which he finally did--my serious complain is that this company preys on college and tech kids,,,coursing them into these long contracts that the kids really can't afford.
My son was a minor in our state when he moved away to school outside our state--but in Arizona he was considered an adult---so this is how they stick it to the school kids---it sould be that if the kid is a minor in their home state--they can not have a membership in such clubs.This club is all about MONEY only--they care nothing about members after they get you hooked into their club. DO NOT GET INVOLVED in this club

Just so you know--you can get things cleared from your credit record--because i have done so--but you have to do a little work to do this--this damn bally place still gets me riled-----and it's been years since the war we had with them over my son's account

I have recieved the same treatment from Bally's, I am going to try to clean up my credit as the company they turned me over to(collection agency) keeps harrassing me. It's amazing that I have read so many people recieving the same working over by these people. I still kick myself for signing up, I had a friend there warning me off but I listened to the smooth talking/fast talking salesperson and got royally screwed over. Now I have a black eye on my credit, and I recieved a phone call where the collector threatened the sheriff at my door.
