Probably phishing for phony warranty victims

By Bryan, 26 Jun 2008 | Country: United States
Received call from 760 520-1368 pretending my warranty is about to expire, but they had no info about me, no name, trying to get my info on whatever car I had between 1995 and 2007. I have multiple and they refused to identify themselves or which vehicle they were calling about. Sounds like phishing scam, and phone number could be forged number - tried calling back and it said "the number you have reached is not in service" ] I get calls like this every several weeks, and want to make the scammer as uncomfortable as possible. So I said "which car"? etc. and got nowhere until they got huffy and said to call them back when I know, yeah, and their callback number is "not in service" - thanks for the timewaster - any way to get the phone company to trace the faked caller ID and shut them down?

I just got a call from this phone number and when I held to talk to some, she asked me if I wanted more information about my car warranty, I said I have no idea why you are calling me. All she said was ok bye and hung up on me. i tried to call the number back, but it said that they buy phone numbers from busness and if I wanted my number removed to press one!!!
