Third party after market auto warranties are generally a scam.

Save your money, and just pay for what you need.

    Antonio,

I am Director of Operations of a Service Agreement company from Arkansas. I am not affiliated with the company you purchased your agreement Maintenance is required on all service agreements.  However, the issues you have listed are not a result of lack of maintenance.  You might consider going "up the ladder" until you can speak with someone that understand your concerns.

Shouldn't have to "go up the ladder"!

    American Guardian Warranty
    Antonio,

We wanted to take this opportunity to address your concerns. American Guardian Warranty is a company committed to making sure that all the issues and claims of our customers are fulfilled. AGW serves 535,000 customers and makes payments of nearly $20 million annually. We welcome our customers to contact us for any issues that they have. At AGW, we work tirelessly to make sure we meet the needs of our customers.

We have been working with the Better Business Bureau since May 2000, to help satisfy our customers and their needs.  The BBB is an independent party that provides a fair solution for both consumer and business. They have given us an A+ rating, which is the highest a company can achieve. The only way a company can receive such a rating from the BBB is to resolve issues with consumers using the BBB's solutions. If you would like to verify our rating with the BBB, please copy and past the following link into your browser: http://bit.ly/sGuLhR

In your situation the proof of maintenance to support coverage for engine repair was not adequate per the requirements in your service contract. In the meantime we are in the process of issuing authorization for the Steering Position Sensor, Motor Mount, Driver Seat-Heater Grid and two Outer Tie Rods estimated at $1,500 and have already paid out close to $2,300 in benefits on your previous claims.

As a company, we are more than willing to pay out the entirety of claims given that the customer meets the documentation requirements stated in their service agreement, much like a manufacturer's warranty.

We welcome any and all inquiries regarding our company and its products. For additional information check out our website, read our blog, email us at info@agwarranty.com, or give us a call at 1-(800) 579-2233. We look forward to hearing from you!

    Thank you,

    American Guardian Warranty

Well American Guardian Warranty, I was a member of the BBB for many year's and as a member, the business pays a yearly fee to be a member. The BBB always works with the business because they don't want to loose there yearly fee's, they don't work with the customer. I was a member for year's, I know how they work. So that is a weak statement at best for a company as yours that is average at best. A warranty company is a business and they take in more than they pay out, so right there is enough evidence to stay away from them. Most do nothing or very little for you when you need them the most and jump threw hoop's not to pay for the covered items. And they can find any reason not to cover the repair, read the contract. They cover all there bases, they can find something. SAVE YOUR MONEY. PAY FOR THE REPAIR WHEN AND IF YOU NEED IT.  95% of the time It will cost you much less in the end!

    Bill,

Do a little research on the company and you'll see they don't just have an A+ BBB rating, they also have over 560,000 customers.  They've been around since 2000.  They pay nearly 90% of claims via credit card right to the service company without any detailed review, so long as there are no red flags.  In the 10% that are flagged, nearly all are paid after a quick review.  The ones that aren't paid are the ones who cannot show that they followed their end of the agreement (like with maintenance, or if they are using the vehicle for commercial reasons, like a snow plow).

I believe American Guardian Warranty, like other good insurance companies, works hard to keep rates down by not allowing the small percentage of scammers out there to take advantage of the system.  They take care of those who follow the agreement.  Think about it this way: They have over 560,000 customers and maybe only a handful of complaints online.  My guess is that those people are either ticked that AGW didn't allow themselves to be scammed, or ticked that they didn't follow the agreement by keeping their own maintenance records.

My experience with American Guardian Warranty has been nothing but positive.  Too bad the 559,000 other satisfied customers don't go online to post their compliments so people can see that there are way more satisfied people than dissatisfied people.

I really wish I could say that I'm having the same experience as yourself. I have purchased extended service warranties for two of my other vehicles, and have had an excellent experience with them, but I'm unable to say the same about American Guardian Warranty Services. My vehicle is in the shop right now as we speak. My vehicle has been sitting in the shop for over two weeks awaiting a decision from AGWS as they make me jump through hoop after hoop. I have owned the vehicle for about two months, purchased from a dealer (vehicle and warranty), paid cash up front for everything, and have over maintained it in the 60 days I have owned the vehicle, and today I learn that they won't cover a portion of the labor cost and they won't pay for all of the parts despite being listed as covered parts in the contract I have in hand. The fact that I also paid more $$ for the warranty to have a "$0" seems to mean nothing.  They have wasted my time, my energy, and now my money, and I haven't even completed my first claim with them.

Not awe inspiring if you ask me!

I'm hoping they throw me a curve ball and treat me right. Not crossing my fingers though.

To state that because 559, 000 people haven't gone online to post comments, means that they are satisfied, is absurd !

Its clear Chuck works for AGW. Seems like wherever this  company has bad reviews there is a company rebuttal followed by a glowing revue from a so called customer of theirs. I have had dealings with this company and none of them are good! Save your money.

I have no experience  with this company, however, I received a very official looking mailing from them informing me that my factory waranty has expired, in fact, it has not, nor is even close to expiration. This company it appears, sends incorrect material to unsuspecting "fish". I don't think I would want anything to do with them.
