Any other information on the calls?

Was it a recording, or a live person?

Did the callers have any accent?

    Any "sales pitch"?

What deceptive statements did they use to try to get your account number?

Have you changed your number, and did the calls continue to the new number?

If you changed your number, was your new number unlisted, or did you have Sprint provide a forwarding message to callers of your old number providing your new number?

Repeated calls are consistent with use of an autodialer.
Many companies use autodialers, and quite a few mess up their programming, resulting in harassment.

Asking for your checking account number points to a scam.  There are a number of fraudulent telemarketers running scams to obtain account information and steal money.

An even higher fraction of the scam call centers appear to mess up their autodialers.  They are already calling trying to defraud consumers, and know they are violating the Do Not Call laws, so they don't care about any laws, and they are often trying to hide their identity and location.
