Visas

I contacted Provisa to process my family visas for our trip to Brazil. I spoke with Michael the owner of the company with sufficient time to get my visas. I sent everything via fedex 1 month prior to my trip. They claim it only takes a few days. I paid for the 15 business day package. They received my stuff with all of my paperwork on 1/10/2012 and it is now 2/3/2012 and I still haven't gotten my visas. I am scheduled to depart from Miam, FL with my husband and infant twins on 2/10/2012 and we still don't have our visas, we may have to cancel our trip.
Their offices are in NY, so I asked my parents to go and find out what was going on since they never returned my calls and live in Las Vegas. After several hours someone showed up and lied about the visas being processed. Giving my mother misleading information. After threatening them with calling the police, they finally agreed to give them our passports back. They were sitting in their offices in a basket with hundreds of other passports and applications that had not yet been processed. I am writing this to avoid this happening to someone else. Although they refunded my money I now have to pay double to have someone try and get our visas and rush service. If we don't make our flight, I will have to sue Provisa to get them to pay for our trip cancelation expenses. Thank God we paid everything through Amex, so they will also help us through this process.
Bottom line...you've been warned don't use Provisa!!!
