"Damage to firewall"??? what a load of BS. Did you actually pay them money? If it was by credit card, contact your bank to dispute the charge due to fraud, and block the card number immediately. If you gave them access to your computer, did they mess it up, or install some malware? You might want to have it checked by a competent computer technician, not some fake who calls on the phone.
How about some one give them a check how can I do it to get the money back

I'm 85 and not too savvy about computers. Had a problem with my Kindle and thought I was talking to Amazon when I was told my computer had serious problems --5 or 7 Malwares (I believe) but he could get it repaired. I spent $269 to have it fixed and I was told I was lucky as no damage had been done. He next suggested I buy a 5 year software support which I did or another $340 . Three days days later I had problems getting a new printer to work and ask them for help. After several hours on the phone I was told that they could not help. This revelation made me question my entire relationship and question if I had been taken. At no time initially had I been given any proof that I had a problem. I currently have the total payment under dispute and they a have advised my bank a full refund is forthcoming. Today they called and said if I withdraw the dispute they will fully refund, but I must withdraw first. What sense does that make? We continue under dispute.

I got scammed yesterday— they were going to reinstall my security software that I had paid for in August— same pop up story with brand new computer— again a senior citizen— this time they said they were going to refund my $200 payment from August thru Western Union— they took access of my computer transferred $2000 from one of my charge cards, deposited it into my Checking account then told me to return $1800!! I realized what they had done— shut down my computer & disconnected the Wi-Fi, they had also renamed my router!! These guys had India accents— now I have to change all my account numbers, get new cards, and have my computer scrubbed!!! Go local— do not trust anyone on line!!!!!

Same thing happened to me. I bought legitimately a Microsoft student/home office program and typed in the address on the card into my google search bar IN THE MIDDLE OF THE PAGE. Big mistake. I should have typed it in on the search bar at the TOP of the page. I got the usual Google search page and clicked on the top listing (which said "ad"). I assumed that was Microsoft----it was not. From that point on I thought I was talking to Microsoft and got the same story about "infections" and unauthorized people having access to my computer---all which could be fixed for $150. Thinking this is all legit, I gave control of my computer and they spent an hour fiddling with it along with loading the Microsoft student/home office program. At the end, get this, they wanted a check sent to an address in MD made out to BrightPCGuru saying they were handling Microsoft tech finances. I agreed and hung up. Funny thing, though. They never gave me any kind of work order number to put on the check to tie my job to their bookkeeping records---just send a check. I went on the internet, found this site and your experiences and realized that your complaints have spooked them away from credit card complaints and now they are trying checks. Thank you all for your efforts as I never sent them a dime but I have gotten a call from them complaining they have not gotten their check. I took my computer to a local tech place and they found that the (I don't know what you call it) "shared screen" where they take control was left on my computer and still able to be activated. I am sure that was their hammer to get me to pay and at some time in the future my computer would be screwed up by them.
It all started because I used the wrong location to type in my search for a legitimate web address.
