We bought a Maytag Centennial washer in July of 2011, The first week we had it there were problems with it not spinning or the  lid getting stuck shut and just stopping full of water .We called Lowe's where we had bought all new appliances, I mean everything . My wife retired and we moved into a smaller house and wanted to replace all appliances so we could relax and know we would not have any problems for a while. Fridge, stove, dish washer ,hot water heater, washer and dryer. The fridge we picked out did not fit into the space so Lowe's changed it out right away. Everything worked as advertised except the Maytag washer. We pleaded for Lowe's to take it back and exchange it for a different brand. They sent out repairman after repairman but could not fix it. Something tells me they knew that this appliance was substandard and was a piece of junk. We asked about the warranty and all they told us was we had a warranty to fix it not replace it. Well fix it I said, but nothing.  That commercial that shows the Maytag repairman with nothing to do because their product is built so well is pure BS. After hit and miss working and not working washer machine I am replacing it with a Kenmore. Don't think  I don't know that Sears just labels other manufactures products so I will make dam sure that it is not a Maytag. Sears unlike Lowe's or Home Depot will take back their appliances if you are not 100% satisfied. I am going to beat the living hell out of this Maytag Centennial with a sledge hammer,  put a big ass sign on it, and place it on the busiest intersection of my town, I am going to tell people what a horrible company and products you people have. Stay tuned I am going to send you pictures. I have done my research and I am not the only one that has had this problem, thousand and thousands are in the same boat. MAN UP AND RECALL THESE SUBSTANDARD  PIECE OF TRASH!!!!!!!
