DIRECT TV WILL RIP YOU OFF, DON'T DO IT, GET OUT NOW

After 15 years of service with DIRECT TV I will never go back again, Don't give DIRECT TV a debit card that they can use when you cancel your services because there contract they say gives them the right to charge your account WITHOUT notifying you of the amount they are charging to your Bank account!~ no calls, no bills, they just STOLE over $300.00 from my account without notification or authorization. Called them to find out why or how they can do this, they say there contract gives them the right WITHOUT telling me. Then come to find I am being charged an early termination fee after being a customer for 15 years. 9 months ago I bought the new DVR box not knowing that upgrading one out of my four boxes to DVR would bind me to a new TWO YEAR CONTRACT after being a customer for 15 years, now that I changed to cable I have to pay an early termination fee costing me an additional $250.00. Customer service will not help,DON"T GO TO DIRECT TV! THEY SUCK

    This "contract renewal" scam is common in the telecom industry, from satellite TV to cell phone companies.  You might contact your state Attorney General since several states have sued both of the major companies for consumer fraud.

    Also, NEVER have or use debit cards.  They let anyone who has your information tap directly into your bank account.  Use only credit cards since it is less disruptive to dispute and close such accounts in case of fraud.

    You can complaint at BBB, We got for free the "CONSUMER ACTION HANDBOOK" at www.ConsumerAction.gov, so you can get your money back, this communications companies (direct tv, dish network and others) do not show their policy after you had installed everything in you house; they use to abuse to consumers.

    They did the same thing to me. They were all smiles when they signed me up, my package was 60.99 month, I have had them for 9 months and I have to call in at least 3times a month because they have taken $200.00 out of my account and left me in the hole with my other bills, and every month they have my package wrong and try to charge me anywhere between $200.00-500.00 once I was on the phone for 4 hours!! Only to have them screw it up the next month and act like this is my problem and say well I don't have that in my notes. So I'm done with them and going back to dish, they never gave me any problems I should have never chose direct over them. They will promise you anything to get you signed up but it's all lies!!!
