A woman called and left a message that she is trying to stop a "judgment" against me.  But I checked our county records and there is NO judgment.  I do not take calls from people I don't know.  Assume next they will try to scam me for money....

Either she has a "judgement", or she doesn't.
    Profile fits common shakedown scams:
    1)  Call out of the blue, claiming you "owe" money to them.  Alleged "debt" doesn't match anything real.
    2)  No one actually served you a summons on the alleged "lawsuit".
    3)  There is no lawsuit or judgement against you.  (You checked.)
    4)  You have to decide to pay them quickly (so you have no time to check it out, or get legal advice, look them up, etc.)
    5)  They avoid sending any proof by US Mail.  (It would allow tracking them down, provide documentation that could be used against them in court, might get the Feds interested, etc.)

May be a scam and a collection agency.. replies to Sounds like a shakedown scam..
There are collection agencies, even with state licenses, access to credit reports, able to take payment by credit card over the phone, etc, that run shakedown scams.
