I got a call from a Brooke Logan stating she is with a litigation firm and that I had a payday loan with Triple Services in 2009. They were stating that I needed to pay them today or they will contact my employer and send the sheriff to my job.
Comments
1) Harassing calls demanding immediate payment for an unknown "debt", allegedly a "payday loan"
2) Threats to litigate or prosecute unless payment is made immediately
3) Implied threat of a "lawsuit", by threatening to "serve papers". (i.e. "send the sheriff to you job")
4) Evasion or refusal to provide proof of the alleged "debt"
5) No contact by US Mail. FDCPA requires debt collectors send a "g" letter within 5 days of first contact, notifying the alleged debtor of the alleged debt, so that they can exercise their FDCPA right to demand validation (proof).
Demand proof by US Mail. If they won't send it to you, it's a scam.
