I got a call from a Brooke Logan stating she is with a litigation firm and that I had a payday loan with Triple Services in 2009. They were stating that I needed to pay them today or they will contact my employer and send the sheriff to my job.

probably a scam.. replies to Tracy Hanes
Profile is consistent with a fake "debt collection" shakedown racket.
      1)  Harassing calls demanding immediate payment for an unknown "debt", allegedly a "payday loan"
      2)  Threats to litigate or prosecute unless payment is made immediately
      3)  Implied threat of a "lawsuit", by threatening to "serve papers".  (i.e. "send the sheriff to you job")
      4)  Evasion or refusal to provide proof of the alleged "debt"
      5)  No contact by US Mail.  FDCPA requires debt collectors send a "g" letter within 5 days of first contact, notifying the alleged debtor of the alleged debt, so that they can exercise their FDCPA right to demand validation (proof).

probable scam.. replies to Tracy Hanes
Never pay anyone threatening you by phone.
Demand proof by US Mail. If they won't send it to you, it's a scam.

These people are SCAMMERS!!!  They called and told me that I had an old debt and this was my last chance before it went to court.  They were very aggressive and had so much of my personal information that I thought that it had to be true.  The debt was leftover from a divorce that my ex was suppose to take care of and never did.  I knew that it could possibly still be out there but wasn't 100% sure.  I made a payment arrangement with them and my first payment would have been a week after our conversation.  I had given them my card information and everything.  The more I thought about it, the more concerned I got.  I goggled APE processing and thankfully people had posted their complaints!!!  I called my bank and cancelled the card that I had given them.  Here is the ironic thing, a few days before the 1st payment would have been made, I got a letter in the mail from the lending company of my debt.  In the letter they were offering me a pay-off amount, reducing the total of the debt!  I called APE and told them this that the information they gave me was false and explained the letter I received.  They wanted a copy of the letter and I said NO WAY!  They told me I was a criminal and they would see me in court!!  Each person I spoke to was nasty and rude!!  If this was a legit company, why did I receive a letter from the original lending company.  DON'T GIVE THEM THE TIME OF DAY AND MORE IMPORTANTLEY, YOUR BANK INFORMATION.  Thank you to those that shared their experiences with these frauds, HOPEFULLY THEY WILL END UP IN COURT!!
