Clothes twisted,not enough water, soap powder stays on clothes after wash

I am not happy with this machine and would not recommend a Maytag centennial to anyone. When I used soap powder,i had to wash the same clothes three times to get the residue off. My sheets and towels are in knots when I take them out. The cycle for permanent clothes twists the clothes so that they must be ironed after drying. Even on high water wash,there is not enough water to properly clean the clothes.
