A woman keeps calling my home phone # repeatedly (for many months now) asking for a non existent person. When I questioned her on one ocasion, asking if she had ever spoken to the person she keeps calling for, she replied, "yes, many times"! Pretty amazing! This last call a few days ago was the 1st time the name of the company she represented was mentioned. The name she gave was "Allied". However this woman is extremely rude and will never speak with me or leave a message, and will hang up on me when I tell her that this non existent person isn't here. I dialed *6, 9, and got the number she called from. The number is 775-319-1507. That number is listed on a number of sites as suspicious.

It appears to be Allied Interstate, a debt collector.

If the name she is asking for is not someone at your phone number, tell her so, and tell her to stop calling your number.  If that doesn't stop it, file a complaint with your state AG, indicating that they are repeatedly calling your number trying to contact someone you never heard of, and that despite your repeatedly telling them so, they have continued to harass you for the last xxx months, calling over yyy times.

Each day I wish I didn't have a recycled phone number that apparently use to belong to a deadbeat woman named Shirley who appears to owe lots of people money. That said, this is a collection agency (Allied Interstate) that won't stop calling you no matter what you do. They just don't care. They get paid a percentage of what they recover so they will keep trying even if the information they have is wrong. All you can do is not answer.

For the past month I have received daily automated calls from Allied Interstate instructing me to call them about a debt. I know I don't have any outstanding debts and I have not received any calls from an actual person. I suspect that they are fishing for information and that a voluntary call to them could not be classified as harassment. It is irritating none the less.
