Royal Holiday-Deception is Their Middle Name

We too were scammed by Royal Holiday in April, 2007.  They promised us everything that we wanted and needed in our membership.
Upon returning home from Cozumel, we carefully read our contract tried to cancel. First we were told, they could not cancel our membership because we were not entered into RHC system.  They would take our information and call us once we were entered. Seven days later a RHC representative called.  We were told we could not cancel because our "Membership Purchase & Sales Agreement" states this agreement cannot be cancelled by either party and that we did not have the right to a reconsideration period..
We have recently found out that Mexican law gives us the right to cancel within 5 days.  We were not told this when we met with the sales manager and in fact our "Membership Purchase & Sales Agreement" states the opposite. Our first call was five days after we had signed.  According to RHC paperwork that we have received our contract date is April 11th.  This is six days after we entered into our contract with RHC, one day after we called to attempt to cancel.  Being that they knew we wanted to cancel, I do not find it a coincidence that they called us on April 17th because this too is six days after the date they wrote on our contract.
Our second mistake was not to pursue this sooner. We thought we would try to make the best of a bad situation.  We tried to get more information from RHC including our member id to get more information online.  That took three months.  We worked with several representatives to attempt clear up lies that we were told to no avail. We were told our contract states no verbal or written statements other than the "Membership & Sales Agreement" are binding. We tried to book our first trip 6 months in advance. What a nightmare!  We decided we would go back to Cozumel to meet with Nico and Gina Cordero to straighten up the inconsistencies in our contract with what we were promised.  Booking using our membership cost us $1,230.00 more than booking through a local travel agent.  What benefit?
Upon arriving in Cozumel last week, the room was not the room we reserved.  The all-inclusive fee was over double ($78/per per person)of what we were promised and $18.00/person per day more than the published website price.
We also found out soon that we would not be able to meet with Gina or Nico.  They no longer work in Cozumel.  We met with Fernando Vazquez and Susana Nunez we explained our problems and frustrations.  Fernando said he wanted us happy, would look into them and help us resolve our problems.  When we met with him the next day, he did not address our concerns.  He wanted to sell more points because "this is what we need and he was offering it to us at an unheard of rate” As we told him, we can not throw good money after bad and our issues needed to be addressed.  He ended our meeting.
We want to get this story out to other people who may fall for their schemes when their guard is down on vacation.  Be careful, and walk away!
We are just starting our campaign to warn other unsuspecting travelers and attempting to try to cancel our contract and get a refund from RHC.
