my grandmother did not order a subscription. I contacted the company asked them to stop sending her magazines. its been a month and the magazines keep coming. where the hell do they get personal information from

    They buy "sucker lists"..

    Sucker lists are created from information sold to list marketers by other merchants often marketing stuff that might imply certain "unsophisticed" or "gullible" demographics, such as "will buy from TV ads", "elderly", young, buys typical consumer magazines, falls for infomercials, etc.

    If she received a bill..
    It is illegal to send a bill for unordered merchandise through the US Mail, or to use the mail in a fraudulent scheme.  It's mail fraud.  File fraud complaints with FTC, your state AG, the state AG in the state where the marketer is located, and a mail fraud complaint with the US Postal Inspector.
