Last Thursday, I signed up with CCH for 300 minutes of conversation with my grandson who is in County Jail. They gave me a different number for him to call, supposedly making the calls no more that a local rates and routed me through Securus. CCH changed me 37 plus dollars, and Securus another 31 plus. I got the information to my grandson who called me on Thursday evening. We had a 15 minute conversation. He tried to call me again on Friday and found that the number was blocked. When I called CCH to find out what the deal was they told me that it was my fault because when Securus discovered that I had done business through CCH they blocked the service. They agreed to give me a refund, but kept 19,50 for their trouble. I was pretty angry and the agent told me I as rude and he was polite. It was easy for him to be polite as he was not the one being scammed. Then I got in touch with Securus and learned that I had 2l.50 left of the 31 plus they took. After much frustration, I got them to agree to return that amount to my credit card. I could have had one more call from the money left--giving me 30 instead of the 300 minutes promised. I think they have legalities on their side--and I got an education I could have done without, in addition to a dramatic rise in my blood pressure. Stay away from both Cons Call Home and Securus--both are scams.
