Identified himself as being from AT&T, knew most of my address, but it was incorrect, then asked for my DOB and permission to change long-distance to a third party. When I refused to give DOB and asked for a 1-800 to call him back he hung up.

It's been a while since slamming reports were common.

FCC, FTC, and state AGs stamped out most of it years ago, and the TCPA/Do Not Call laws killed any remaining legitimate telecom telemarketing.

If your carrier is ATT, you might contact them to report the attempted fraud.
Some carriers allow you to place a block on changes, including blocking thrid party cramming.

This number claims he's with ATT and he is NOT.  When I told him to take my name off his list he told me to shut up that this was not a sales call.  Too funny!  Did he really think he was going to get anything out of me after that.  I previously reported this to ATT, theY say it's a scam!  I KNOW IT IS!!!!  FROM THIS POINT ON I JUST WON'T ANSWER.
