Network agenda took 9.95 out of my checking account without authorization. I have never heard of this place before. I called company immediately and cancelled something I had  never opened in the first place. How did they get my account info and this company needs to be stopped

They are reported to sell some sort of "online business" or "government grant" "products", through some "free trial offer" for "only shipping and handling".  There are many reports of larger charges to consumer accounts, supposedly for some monthly service.

If you didn't authorize their charges, contact your bank to dispute the charges as fraudulent, and close the account due to fraud to prevent future fraudulent charges.

With this type of scam, you cannot count on the company to refund the money they take, or to cancel and cease taking it, since they offer their "free trial" to get your account information and make larger charges.

If your money isn't back in your account within 5 days, proceed as above.  Regardless, you will need to close the account, as with this type of scam, charges often start showing up later under different names, so attempting to block only the name you know does no good.

Even leaving your account open subjects you to the risk that they will run through additional charges while you wait for your "refund".  It is safer to just dispute the fraudulent charge with your bank, under FRB Reg. E, and immediately close the account.

Make sure you have disputed through your bank within 60 days of the statement date of the statement showing the disputed charges, and make sure you follow up with your bank dispute IN WRITING, to most effectively invoke your FRB Reg. E dispute rights.

    Customer Service / Resolution Offer
I apologize for any misunderstanding regarding the services you've been receiving from our company. Our company handles some aspects of Customer Support for a program called Network Agenda. If you have received a charge from Network Agenda, then with the order of a Google or Grant CD, CD download or E-book program, you also received a free trial period for Network Agenda. We offer the trial period to give our clients a chance to use the services and see the value before they are billed. The trial period for Network Agenda is free for 21-30 days from the order date, depending on which bonus applies, and we would not have charged you had you called customer service and canceled during the trial period as it is not our desire to bill clients who do not want the membership after the free trial offer ends.

Here is a copy of some of the Terms and Conditions provided at when your order was placed:

    Bonus Material Terms and Termination.
By purchasing this product, you agree to adhere to the termination agreement as outlined on the order page, confirmation of order page, and confirmation email, which is that you, the buyer, are not entitled to a refund of the upfront cost of any shipping and handling that may or may not have been charged to you for delivery of said product. Furthermore, any free trials that may or may not be offered with this product are only free during the said allotted time of the free trial period as outlined within the product sales page, confirmation of order page, and confirmation email. If you have not cancelled the free bonus within the free trial period (if offered on product purchasing), you are agreeing to purchase the bonus material and/or service at a monthly reoccurring cost. This can be cancelled by calling the customer service number provided in the confirmation email between the hours of 9AM and 9PM EST M-F and stating your desire to cancel said bonus material. However, in order to not be charged any future reoccurring cost, please give ample time (2 business days) to be cancelled out of any reoccurring billing system before the next scheduled charge to your account (this does not apply during any trial period). Not canceling trial programs constitutes authorization, by you, the buyer, for any charges (as outlined) for the associated bonus service until your request to cancel has been received by our customer service staff. By not canceling the bonus program during the trial period or prior to two days before a scheduled billing cycle, you agree that any reoccurring charges billed to you will be non-refundable.

If you called to cancel the primary program you ordered, but did not request cancellation of the bonus programs, this is why you may have still received additional charges. Because many of our customers will cancel one program, but continue to use another, unless the customer specifically requests cancellation of a certain program, that program will remain active until we receive the request to cancel. I apologize if you were not aware you would need to cancel each program individually, but we do provide the information about each program, trial period and each monthly charge several times throughout the ordering process and in the confirmation email we sent so the customer can cancel each program if they are not interested in using them.

If you are another customer that is reading this and you have already tried customer service, but feel that we have failed you in some way or you feel you weren't treated fairly, please call me directly at 435-773-1795, or email me at customerservice@cshelp.org, I will be happy to address your concerns ASAP.

    Sincerely,
    Online Customer Support
