To whom it may concern,
I am a 2 time customer of Red wind Boots for my husband. Sadly this will be the last time that I purchase Red wings Boots . The first pair of boots purchased lasted him for over 10 years. Well-built quality and at the time customer service as well. He takes them in regularly for conditioning and lace repairs, etc, However, the second purchase of these boots less than 3 years ago, has not been so delightful. In fact this has been the worst customer service that I have ever seen in a company that claims to be about quality and customer service. These boots have fallen apart, literally. My husband has taken them to 2 different locations one including the Midlothian VA location that I purchased the boots from. The first location the representative told him we can’t do anything for these boots. My husband told him how little time we have had them and that he doesn't understand why they are so easily damaged while being the “work man’s boot” the rep insisted that there was nothing they could do. The sole is falling apart on a $400.00 pair of shoes. As a woman I would never spend that kind of money, but I wanted my husband who is on his feet all day to have comfort in knowing that he has the best out there. Which is not what the actual case is. The second representative that my husband spoke to at the purchased from location., also, told him we won’t do anything with these, My husband asks him, “ what about the sole replacement, Lifetime repair, your company lives by” the response, “Well I will give you $50.00 off a new pair.” I am sorry I don’t spend over $400 bucks to get 50$ off another 400 dollar purchase. My husband then asked him why would I spend that kind of money when you are not even willing to try to fix the boots after so little time having them, we could go to Walmart and spend $70 dollars every 2 years and not hit the price for your boots.. The customer service representative responded with “ well then you should go to Wal-Mart and get them then. I am astonished by this type of attitude! I cannot believe that this would come out of anyone in your corporations mouth. My husband was furious at this point and walked out with his damaged boots in hand once again. I am just in disbelief that a company of your caliber would condone this type of attitude in customer service world. I just needed to make someone aware that this is how your customers are being treated in the Midlothian/Richmond Virginia locations.. I hope that you can fix this before you lose other customers in addition to my family and friends.
