Incident
Buying air tickets. Final total price displayed - about $1660. I checked \"accept terms and conditions\" and \"proceed\". Suddenly new screen appears stating \"this fare not available\" and a new price, about $1690. Three options given - Accept, Cancel, or change. Cancel button is inoperable unless you check a box authorizing $25 per ticket in fees to be charged to your credit card. I groaned and just accepted the higher price. My bank declined the payment, but not before a $20 \"travel assist\" fee had been processed under a different company name, not \"CheapoAir\". My Bank Visa center was unable to specify why a security hold was placed when the attempt was made to charge the larger amount, which was about $1730 CAD.

Damage Resulting
Waste of time, now and when I have to try to have Visa nullify the $20 when it appears on my statement. Ongoing risk that CheapoAir will try to use my credit card information.

Booked flights on cheapoair but the flights were cancelled. I had to pay $150 dollars to change the flights which THEY FAILED to secure in the first place. A total scam!!!!!

I experienced the same thing only she charged me so many fees that i ended up with a credit of $0. I lost out on the total price I paid for the ticket.  I will never buy another ticket through that company. I only used their company because I was in a desperate situation, now I regret ever doing it.  I reported them to the better business bureau to ensure that someone knows about my situation and to let them know that I'm not gonna allow them to get away with it.

    My experience:

Had a ticket through Cheapoair, purchased travel insurance for $75. I missed my flight. Yes, this was my fault. However, apparently that $75 insurances doesn't cover missed flights. What does it cover? OH well in case there had been a terrorist attack or a death in my immediate family, then I could have used it. Right, because that's exactly what I was afraid of when I purchased the insurance.

So I cancel the ticket before the flight and I am awarded CREDIT with Cheapo, minus a $150 cancellation fee. I can live with that because the ticket was over $1,000, round trip to China.

Fast forward 2 months. I'm in China, where Skype does not work, and I'm trying to get ahold of these people. I have sent 4 separate e-mails to them, spaced a few days apart, trying to book a new ticket. I have gotten NO reply. I will update with further developments...

ONE more thing. Read their google ratings. 4.4 out of 5 stars. How is this possible you ask? Actually take a minute to read the reviews and you will notice they all say EXACTLY the same thing (starting with "Good customer service" of course!) The company forces their employees to write these copy/paste reviews on airfare review sites. What a company...

this isn't a cut and paste at all. I've had good luck on the first 2 flights that I've booked for my gf from salt lake to Indy, didn't have any trouble; i wonder how many ppl give reports on how good it is rather than how bad it is.....just wondering

My reservation was not ticketed after seven hours and had a difficult time contacting customer service.  Phone, chat, call back... did not work.  So I cancelled the ticket online and got the confirmation email. Based on the negative experiences expressed here, now I am afraid they will charge me huge fees.  My reservation includes 4 international tickets that cost about 4,600.  They have 24/7 customer service with all kinds of options: phone, callback, chat, email... None of them works.  Phone was put on hold for over an hour and still did not reach anyone.  Chat was cut off in the middle of the conversation, if you are lucky to get hold of someone after many tries.  Callback did not call back.  Wow, this is really a scary company.  They probably wrote a profile on Wikipedia by themselves too, since it sounds like they are a top-notch company.  This is simply a company that operates by baiting customers with low fare offers that cannot be ticketed, then charge customers with all kinds of fees when things don't work out.  They need to be shut down.

You've got me worried now. Having already lost £400 through one of their ticket scams, I am now concerned the other flight I booked through them will be valid when I'm at the airport supposedly looking forward to that holiday. Here in the UK we are second fiddle to those in the USA because, you don't have to dial out to speak to some don't give a S**t administrator on the other end of the phone. All they want is to scam your hard earned money. They are the Robin Hood of cheap air tickets but, take off the poor to give to the rich.

Will not ever use Cheap o air again. We purchased medical insurance thinking if had to cancel we would be covered. Cancelled our flight for medical reason but when we tried to work with cheapoair to get a reimbursement got nothing but the run around. Finally fed up with dealing with them. Will take the 1000.00 hit for tickets but will never use them again under any circumstances.
