Unsolicited robocalls

Christy has called my office number twice today (it's only 9:45 a.m., so I suspect it will continue) from 2 different local numbers. What is being done to stop this??? And was this a real person? I'm afraid I made the fatal error of saying "yes" before I realized what was happening and hung up.
