I received a phone call from "Daniel" from 602-699-5126, asking for me by name. I acknowledged, and then he demanded I give him my address. when I refused, he laughed at me and said then I will process further since you don't want to help me. I have acknowledged my name was correct, but wouldn't for my address and they wont tell me WHY they are calling... Seems more than fishy!

    They probably already have your address.
    If they call again, tell them if they think you owe them a debt, to mail you the FDCPA required "g" letter, and to otherwise cease calling your number.  Any debt issue can be resolved in an orderly fashion in writing.
    Unless you've moved recently, if you have any financial footprint such as credit accounts, your credit files already show your current address.

    They typically collect on utility accounts, such as phone bills.

    When they call tell them to send what they want you to understand in writing and you will respond in kind.  Tell them that "this is not a refusal to pay but a demand that they validate the debt in writing."  Follow up with the demand to contact you in writing only.  These are the steps to take to setup for Fair Debt Collection Practices Act violations.  If you refuse to pay without asking for validation, they will use that as an admission that the debt is valid and it can make getting a judgement against you easier.  If you tell them to never contact you this opens them up to being able to file suit as they have no other recourse.  Never agree to pay a collection agent as they are a third party intervener and you are never contractually obligated to pay a party who is not specifically named on the contract that you sign.  Lastly look up a Request For Validation Form on the internet and send it by Certified Mail to the Collection Agent and demand it be filled out in full before dialog continues.  This works almost 100 percent of the time and they go away.

    Yea they be calling me they ask on adress i said i nees know what call bout all she said was personal matter then i said can talk to my laywer she ask for lawyer name i said give it to you once explain bout phone call lmfao 😅😂😅 then she got mad n said thank you have nice day this bull [***] is a scam i dont owe no body a dam thing they tripping before she hung up i said am plead the 5 th amendment ha ha see got out smart these scam artists nice try but that [***] wont work on me ha ha bye suckers
