Poor Quality Fabric

We purchased an England sofa and 2 chairs for our living room in October 2011. We selected a chocolate brown microfiber that came highly recommended.
We were very pleased with our purchase until we noticed that one side of the sofa was faded. I called the service department and was told that sun damage isn’t covered under warranty. We do have windows in our house so we are not disputing the fact that the fading was caused by the sun, and one would expect a bit of fading from the sun over time. The fading however, is MAJOR and the sofa was only 6 months old!!! We basically have a two-toned sofa now.
A technician looked at our sofa and the comments he made were “the worst case he has ever seen….the sofa is not close enough to the window to cause sun damage in the first place…..it wouldn’t be this bad if the sofa had been right against the glass”. He left us with the opinion that England would have to fix or replace as the fabric was defective. Spoke with service today - they will do nothing!
We are not disputing that sun can cause fading, that is understandable. We are reasonable people. We are though disputing the fact that the fabric is defective because the fading is severe, it happened in such a short period of time, and it happened during the time of year when the sun is not at its hottest. We are VERY discouraged with both the quality of the product we purchased and the service in having it dealt with.
