"Health product" scams are known for using teaser trial offers to get consumer account information "for shipping and handling", then cramming on large charges as fast as they can. They typically claim consumers "agreed" to repeated shipments at excessive prices, although numerous consumer complaints point to deceptive and fraudulent marketing and charging.
Regardless of the health product or company, the scam is usually basically the same.
Since they set out to defraud their trial customers, they often also steal from unrelated consumers through errors in billing information.
Regardless, whenever you are dealing with unathorized charges, contact your bank immediately to dispute the charges, and close the account or block the credit card number to prevent additional future fraudulent charges. Follow up with a written dispute or fraud affidavit, and be sure your bank receives it within 60 days of the statement date of the statement showing the disputed charge to preserve your FRB Reg. E or FCBA dispute rights.
Never use debit cards, check cards, ATM cards, or checking account numbers for payments to any company you don't already know and trust. Use only credit cards for such purposes, since they are easier to block and close, and the federal protections against fraudulent charges are stronger.
Cancel all debit and check cards, due to the risk of fraud, and use ATM cards only for cash from your bank's own ATM machines. Use checks only for payments to companies you already know and trust, such as rent, mortgage, utilities, credit card bills, etc.
