Door to Door Transport placed my order to ship my car with Mobile Transport. The people at Door to Door were o.k. but Mobile Transport was very difficult to work with. I called numerous times to try to find out when they would pick up the car. The pick up window I had requested was 1st choice on a Weds., second choice Tues. and last choice Thurs. of the 3 day window I gave them. I contacted them on the Friday of the week before and they first said it might be on Tues. and they would give me 24 hr notice. Monday came with no call, I called them and was told maybe late Tues or Weds. Tues came and no call. I called them and was told it would probably be Weds. A number of times my call was dropped or they promised to call me back and didn't so I would have to call again. Each time I called them I reiterated that I was flying out very early in the morning on Friday and needed the car picked up by mid-day Thurs at the latest. I put off seeing friends and relatives in the area because I didn't know when they would pick the car up. By the time it was resolved it was too late to visit them. On Weds., again, no call. When I finally reached them on Weds. the woman told me it would be late Thurs or Friday!!!! I told her that was unacceptable and the contract was for pick up Tues-Thurs. She said her copy of the contract said Weds-Fri. On my earlier calls the person at their company had confirmed the contract was for Tues-Thurs. She suggested I leave the car with the key in it for the driver to pick up! Right, I'm going to fly across the company and leave my car unlocked with the keys in and hope they show up before it gets stolen! Ended up I drove the car over an hour away to a rest stop to meet the driver on Thursday to hand it over to him. What a hassle. I think what made me the most angry was the lie about the pick up time frame to try to shift the blame to me.
On the other end in Washington they called to tell me they would be delivering the car before noon on the next weekday (I think it was a Tues). I was out of town and my son was home for the delivery. He was sick with a bad cold/bronchitis and needed to see the doctor so I made him an appt. for 2pm figuring the car would be delivered by noon. 11:30 comes around and I check in with my son, they have not dropped the car off or called. I call Mobile Transport to ask when the car would be delivered. She tells me the driver is running late and it will be in the afternoon some time. I tell her I have made an appt. for my son to see the doctor and there will be about a 2 hour window when no one is home. She tells me if we are not there with the cash the car will be impounded and I will have to go and get it myself and pay a holding fee. I tell her that is unreasonable since she told me yesterday they would deliver it by noon - she did not say maybe, or make sure you keep your whole day open, or any other disclaimers, she said by noon - I could have sent my son to the doctor in the morning if I'd known the car wouldn't show up until the afternoon. She was entirely unsympathetic, suggested I ask a neighbor to wait for the car - my neighbors are all at work on a weekday. I said if she impounded my car I would file a small claims suit and she basically said "bring it on". My son ended up moving the dr. appt. to the next day so he could stay home for the car. He spent another miserable sleepless night without proper medications for his cough and congestion. I will never do business with this company again.
