I just received an email as well saying Case file number and that I am being legally prosecuted in the court house within a couple of days. Saying Collateral check Fraud, Theft by deception and Electronic Fund Transfer. I don't know who these people are. They said they are reporting this to my employer and the fbi.
They gave me a phone number of 1-920-624-4888 to contact.

    Don't do it.
If someone is suing you, you won't receive notification via email.  A process server will show up in person with the document.  To the best of my knowledge, the only country on this planet that allows legal notices to go out via email is New Zealand.  Besides, there isn't a process server on this planet that would give notice first.  The idea is that they get you unawares to reduce the risk of you bolting before the document gets served.

If I were you, I would turn the tables on them and go to the fbi first.  File complaints with your local AG, the FTC, notify your local police and complete a suspicious incident report, and, if there is anything in that email about wiring money, contact the secret service.  But under no circumstances would I call that phone number back.  They are the criminals, not you.

In addition, no legitimate debt collector would be using a gmail e-mail address.
I've gotten several e-mails from the "fbi," from a gmail address, informing me that I would be arrested later in the day since I was refusing to respond to their e-mails.  This was several weeks ago, and I'm still waiting for them to arrive with the handcuffs.

And wait you shall.  Bless you.

I've always felt that this was the dictum:  If you have to announce something, loudly and with hyperbole, you've really got nothing to announce.  That's what all of this big and ugly debt collection nonsense is - and I firmly believe that it is all nonsense.

Unfortunately, it will continue until EVERYBODY that they contact tells them to go take a hike.  That is, as long as a dollar can be made  - because, as we all know, this is 100% motivated by making a profit - it will continue.

Lmao. I just received a second email of this sort stating they will download my lawsuit within 24 hours if I don't respond. Freaking idiots. Since when do we get notified of lawsuits via email? Should have picked a better way to put forth their scam.

Also make copies of all e-mails they send to you & keep them on file along with all the complaints.

    Emailed too!
I received this same email today. They stated they attempted to draft my bank, and I verified with my bank and it NEVER occured. I demanded that they forward me a copy of all documents surrounding the said debt and they made excuses. There is no reason in the world I would need to take a payday loan so this is fraud.

It's a scam, an extortion racket run from overseas.
They are a bunch of liars and fakes, just like this "debt".
They are looking for suckers to respond.  Ignore them.

If they are calling you, they are probably using VoIP.

You could check with the various VoIP carriers, Vitelity, Paetec, Level 3, Winstar, etc, and if it's one of their numbers, report it's use for fraud and extortion,  Maybe get it cut off.

I have been contacted by phone by these scammers and now they are sending me emails saying that they are contacting the FBI and my employer. I have also been told that I was going to be arrested for not complying with their demands. First of all you cannot be arrested for not paying a debt. They also use names like Daniel Smith and they have a very strong accent. They claim to be with the attorney generals office as well as a police department. Do not give them any money!!! Don't even listen to their phone calls. Hang up and call the police. What is the real shame is that this has been going on for at least four months which means that some people must be believing them and paying them. I just hope that they are caught really soon and put to justice!!!!!
