I had Directv service for 10 years a recently removed my Directtv service on August 20, 2012, received the final bill with statement date of August 22, 2012. Today I received a bill from them for movies ordered on 2010. I explained that I was not able to order movies through the remote so I had the choice of having the movie billed to monthly statement or using my credit card to pay, so how can I get a bill for movies ordered two years ago today. The rep said when I returned the boxes they match the movies ordered with monthly bills. I told her that's bull because I could have used my credit card to pay for he movie but how can I be expected to review my credit card for movies ordered two years ago for $2.99 or $3.99. Directv is a rip off, I am filing a complaint with the better business bureau because their are customers out there who know no better and just pay so Directv can get richer.

    Mr Bea A,

Directv is correct in charging you for the titles. The way Pay-per view charges work is complicated. I guess it might even be beyond your understanding capabilities to understand the technicality.

However, Not only DIRECTV , every cable company can charge you for PPV movies for any time back-dating within your period of service after they perform a clean-up check on your receiver. There are times when call-backs on your receivers fail and  your receiver does not connect to the cable company's servers (can be any reason like your internet connectivity or your phone connectivity) and only when you surrender your receivers for a final bill, all data is investigated on receivers and charged upon.

Directv is not rip off. you are just ignorant and unaware about the facts. You would have gone through same procedure even if you had Dish, Time Warner or any other cable providers. The only difference is , Directv has better picture quality and better channel options.
