My grandmother has been gone since May 2007 and
my phone is a private phone number. This so called
"collection agency" has harassed me enough. I need
to know who to contact get these people off my back
and make sure they pay for what they are doing.

    You should call your local phone company to find out if they provide call tracing. Inform them of the situation, how long it has been occuring, what the caller has said, and so on. Call Tracing would involve the local police department. I hope this helps, this would be your first step.

    You are not responsible for your grandmother's debts.

    Generally, if you are having problems with debt collector harassment, you can contact your state Attorney General for assistance.  YOu may also be able to sue for violations of FDCPA, even if the calls are for someone else.

    If you can provide some details on the call such as any names, what they said, any threats or abusive behavior, accents, etc (NOT id or account info), it may be possible to match up with known problem debt collectors or known phony scam debt collector patterns.
