We purchased a dining room table with chairs in early January 2009. It was supposed to arrive within 6-8 weeks. Didn't arrive. We received one phone call telling us that they would call us when they had an arrival date.

At 10 weeks we still had not heard anything and we went back again to the store... they gave us another date and finally we asked that if the item did not arrive by this 'new' arrival date (12 weeks after the original purchase) that our money would be fully refunded. Agreed. We actually gave them THREE extra days and finally went in and canceled the order.

Since we paid with a credit card they would not write us a check, they had to place the purchase amount back on our card. They promised that within 7-10 days we would receive our refund. Today is day 10, no refund. I just called... oh, silly me, it is 7-10 business days.
So, we are actually only on day six now. I asked if we could have a check refund in four days if the refund isn't back in our account. The very quick and final answer was "NO - you will be refunded in the same manner in which you paid." OH, REALLY... well I am quite sure they had our money within a couple of days - probably hours. They have sat on this for FOUR MONTHS NOW. I bet we don't get our money back with interest!

I have heard horror stories from other unfortunate local customers since our little fiasco started with Ashley Furniture, Chico, CA; people waiting for months for furniture and then having 30% of the purchase price withheld from a refund if one is requested.

I want to warn every single person who is capable of reading these words and might consider shopping at Ashley Furniture, Chico, CA ... DO NOT SHOP ASHLEY FURNITURE IN CHICO, CALIFORNIA. If you do, you better walk out of the store with your product the very day you purchase it - or it will be several months... if ever, that you might get to use your new furniture!

We are at week 15 now, no refund, no dining room table and really... I am not holding my breath for four more days, because with the track record of Ashley Furniture, Chico, CA - we will most likely be dealing with this mess for a while. Regrettable. Very, very regrettable.

Presumably you are located near the merchant.

You might dispute the charge through your credit card immediately, however since they  have probably strung you along for more than 60 days from the statement date showing the charge, your bank might not help you get a refund.

You would be wise to contact your local District Attorney's consumer protection unit, as problems with both delivery and refunding may often mean a company is either about to go under, or engaged in defrauding customers.  The faster you shake your refund out of them the more likely you will actually get it.

Failure to actually deliver the product may be one reason your bank might reverse charges after the 60 days from statement date dispute period, particularly when they have promised a refund, and still failed to reverse the charge, but don't let this sit, as any dispute after 60 days leaves your bank no obligation to assist you.

Same story here. Ordered furniture in January at the Redding store with a promise of delivery in about 4 weeks, got the runaround and story after story as to why the furniture wasn't coming in.  Finally showed up in the 15th week!

My opinion is that these guys are in financial trouble and will say anything to get your money, then good luck waiting for your furniture.  Stay away.

It's been a year for me and I finally gave up and bought new furniture from a competitor. The furniture arrived on time and in perfect shape. Never got a refund from Ashley.

Unfortunately my furniture did arrive. The sofa and the chair and 1/2 had both been cut clear through the fabric with a utility knife when they took the plastic off at the warehouse. Before the furniture was delivered I was assured by the employee I spoke with at the warehouse that she had checked the pieces and they were fine. WELL THEY WEREN'T. I immediately called the store and told the manager, HE HUNG UP ON ME!After contacting the BBB, the local TV station and the Illinois States Attorney they agreed to order replacements for the damaged pieces. The original furniture was delivered June 13th 09. After fighting for months and then waiting for months it is now Nov 17th. I received a call from the warehouse in Moline. Had a relative go up and check it, my relative and the store manager in Moline advised me to demand a refund or contact an attorney. SAVE YOURSELF THE HEARTACHE.......GO SOMEWHERE ELSE!!!!!!!!!!!

We bought our furniture in April; delivery date was May 16th....no furniture; no call from Ashley Furniture---but our $3204.67 check was sure cashed by the company immediately! Three of our pieces are on the show room floor and we are told we cannot have them. If we want a refund we have to wait until at least September...I am assuming of this year! BY THE WAY, THE RECEIVING BAYS FOR ASHLEY ARE VIRTUALLY EMPTY! Visited them on Otterson Drive this afternoon!  I have a group ready to picket; are you game?  email at philnkel1102@sbcglobal.net.

Purchased $2700.00 worth of furniture April 21, 2010.  Knowone knows anything about it.  Store manager J.D. says he's a liquidator and doesnt know anything about purchases prior to May 31, 2010.  I thought something was strange when the day after I ordered my furniture it was on supposed "back order"  I wasn't born yesterday.  I gave them 8 weeks then filed a dispute with my credit card company.  If I try and cancel the order (even though my furniture was never ordered) they will charge my a 30 % cancellation charge.  I reordered at EMS.  They checked the wearhouse, (the same one Ashley gets there furniture from) ONE week delivery time!  Thank goodness I paid with a credit card.  Do not buy furniture from Ashley Chico, or Redding (same owners)

Morgan speak with the DA March/April they wiped out all cash refunds per Richelle Armstrong (any in store credits are gone illegally). No they can't charge you a RESTOCKING fee once the contract is broken (NO MATTER HOW MUCH CRAP THEY GIVE YOU) Buyer beware everyone for the last year Richelle never paid the BILl for your Montage fabric PROTECTION call 1-800-686-5559 to verify if they have no record contact the DA's office as this was intent to defraud the client this proves they stole from the customer and continued to do so.Anyone financially hurt by this which means no product file a small claims action this will hinder the business and personnal assets If not done by SEPTEMBER you could lose out.File against Ashley-Robert and Vera Myers also againt Mike/Richelle Armstrong (they are CEO's and all had a lying cheating hand in hurting this community. It was not the salespeople doing as they kept in the dark(They stole from us too (WE DON'T GET PAID TILL DELIVERY GO FIGURE LAST YEAR AND THIS YEAR EACH OF US LOST AT LEAST $20,000.00 IN COMMISSIONS THEY WILL NEVER BE FORCED TO PAY US AND ALOT OF US OUR LIVING ON THE STREETS NOW THANKS TO THEM BUT THE CAN STILL LIVE LIKE FAT HOGS)My words to them I hope your all proud of yourselves for how you are responsible for screwing peoples lives with no regards to decesencywould your mothers be proud of you NOW!!!! You owe all of us and YES Richelle you are dirty and underhanded too don't try to hide under Roberts mistakes you led this company to financial Devastion and before you spend another dime on anything (like Disney World for a week)YOu need to pay all the CLIENTS what due and the SALESPEOPLE we deserved to be paid all our MONIES that are due for the last 2 years. If there's an attorney that would do a Class Action Lawsuit for the employees contact the salesstaff in REdding (not the ROADIES as they are not involved)Don't allow this to go on!!!

    Ashley Furniture,
    Mr. Timp,
Try to understand my problem. Your Mohawk Valley Recliner was a factory  replacement in October of last year. This new recliner is also losing the brown leather dye at the head rest. This is a quality control issue. Gage Furniture Austin Texas Burnet Road Store represented your factory regarding the first $699.00 chair claim.
THIS CURRENT CHAIR IS THE RESULT OF MY PERSISTANT CLAIMS IN 2010.
YOU DID NOT PROVIDE ME WITH A WARRANTY  ON THE REPLACED RECLINER.
I want a full refund on the poorly designed recliner.
I want nothing more to do with your furniture
