My complaint against Roger's goes back a few years.I have been a mobile customer for about 8 years.Recently I received a promotional flyer from Roger's telling me I could upgrade my existing motorola razor phone to the new blackberry data phone.Since I travel quite a bit I saw this as a viable option to the phone I was using. I called the Roger's customer service department to hear about the options including monthly fee's.I was told that since I was only two years into my three year contract I could get the upgrade, and a new 3 year contract would begin when the new phones arrived.I looked at the 3 models that Roger's was offering and chose the Blackberry flip phone,as it had the features I was looking for. That's when the troubles began.I waited patiently for my 2 phones to arrive.I requested 2 of the flip phones, one for myself and one for my girlfriend, who I have on my monthly plan.About a week later the courier arrived with a package. When I opened the box there was just one phone,it was not a blackberry flip phone as ordered,it was the blackberry pearl..After getting on the phone to speak to someone at Roger's customer service desk i was told that it would be easier for me if I just kept the one that was sent, as trying to send it back could result in too many problems, like getting lost and still having to pay for the phone, so I reluctantly agreed to keep the pearl.I installed the sim card from my old motorola as instructed and followed the directions to activate my new data plan, after several frustrating hours and no luck again I called the Roger's "help desk",what a surprize, they forgot to activate the data plan, they apologised and said they would correct it,also during this same conversation when I asked the customer service rep about the second phone I had ordered(never arrived)I was told that it had been cancelled! My frustration level at this point was really starting to escalate,so I went into a Roger's Wireless store at the local mall to see if they could help.Simply put, NO! I was told that because I ordered through Roger's on the phone, and not through a store I was basically "on my own".Back to square one. Finally my girlfriend's phone arrived by courier, after a lengthy conversation with roger's to get it on order again, and no surprize, it was of course the wrong phone again! After careful deliberation we decided that it was turning into a nightmare trying to get things sorted out, we conceded to defeat, and just kept the phones. If anyone out there is familiar with the blackberry pearl phone, then you know of the several design flaws this phone has.I won't get into all the specifics, as there are probably too many to list.Long story short,my girlfriend picked up her phone to make a local call, the number was not programed into her phone so had to be manually keyed in, only problem was, it didn't work. No matter what we tried it was impossible to make a call, from the PHONE!It was the last straw, so my girlfriend got her old motorola out of the box and tossed her new blackberry pearl in the can! here it is two months later and I am still being charged the monthly data plan rate for 2 phones, when I only have one that works!!
