"won a $200.00 gift card from Walmart" Typical scam line to appear to be legitimate by using a well known brand name. As for the "$200.00", they can make up any amount but its all about getting YOUR money.
Best not to reply, not even to "cancel". They are illegally sending unsolicited messages, so they might also be illegally cramming fraudulent charges.
Watch your cell phone bill for fraudulent crammed charges. "... Ginger - 19 Oct 2009 I received this text message today - do NOT call them and do NOT reply with a text message. It's an all-out scam with various implications.
I contacted my cell phone service provider (verizon) and they told me this is a media subscription service and by replying (or even them just including your number on their list to send this text to) I could be charged $9.95/month. Verizon promptly put a block on my account (for free) for all media subscription services to head-off any further attempts from this company. This will not interrupt regular text messaging.
If you received this text, particularly if you replied or called them, I recommend calling your service provider immediately to thwart unsolicited charges. ..."

Typically this type of spam is used to lure phone owners into replying in any manner that they can claim was some "acceptance" of their deceptive "offer".
They will likely then start cramming repeated fraudulent charges on your cell phone bill, even if you just told them to stop texting you.
Watch your cell phone bills, and be prepared to report and dispute fraudulent charges through your phone company. And when you dispute, call it what it is. It is FRAUD.

I just got texted from these spammers. I think we should start to complain to Verizon, At&T, T-moblie, etc.
I never text. Texting cost money. These Spammers are not using FREE email anymore, but a service that cost money.
I am going to start to file my compliants with FTC.gov. Maybe if they get enough complaints about JumpOffer.com they will shut them down and throw them in jail.
One can only hope

Thank you TJ for information.
I called Verizon and they put a block on "Premium" text messages which will cost you 9.95 per month.
Verizon did ask me to repsond to the text message with STOP while I was on the Phone with Verizon. I would not do this without being on the phone with your carrier.
Verizon also said they would refund any charges related to these messages since I called them to block.
This may be the first line of defense.

Just noticed that I received a text on the 2nd of this month.I deleted it. It was an offer for a $100 gift card. Thanks for these alerts. People need to know about this scam operation. They know how hard it is for some people to get any kind of cash and so they are gullible and look for something that they may think is free.Oprah is not online giving away money!!! I hope that they are caught with their hands on someones money and they are sent straight to Hell!!(Jail)!!!!!
