Budget Saver's fees appeared on my AMEX Account, paid thru Fidelity Inv.
AMEX is cancelling their charges, & doing an Investigation.
It appears that they sent $1 charges thru for 3 months of so, then jumped the current charges to $24.95.  All with no authorization from us.
 My Query...who & what's this charge for?N7B3
On the Internet; I find that this is "Budget Saver's" typical format for billing Credit Cards, without any formal contracts, nor services.
Further, they charged a closed AMEX Account, but most Credit Card firms still accept transactions from most merchants for months!

These "discount club" scams often run through small charges initially to probe the validity of the account information they get from other "partners".  If those go through, they know they can then run through their larger monthly charges.  They also claim these are "automatic repeating charges" that allegedly the consumer has agreed to, since this category is often rolled over with account changes, even when the expiration number changes that happen when new cards are sent out.

The small charges are often unnoticed, and unlikely to result in any action by banks when disputed other than a courtesy refund to a customer paid by the bank itself.

The strategy is constructed to maximize their ability to successfully make fraudulent charges.

Immediately contact your bank to dispute fraudulent charges.  Close and block your account due to fraud to prevent additional fraudulent charges.  Follow up with a written dispute or fraud affidavit sent to your bank's dispute address from your statemet.

On December 7th I purchased a set of those door draft-protectors advertised on TV. I was told repeatedly for $1, I'd receive $100 for gas from Budget Savers. The Budget Savers packet finally arrived by mail on December 20th. Today, I looked over their website and found the 4 quarterly vouchers for gas, which you must print off and submit to receive a check. I quickly realized the scam, by the time it takes to get a $25 check for gas, you've had to be with Budget Savers at least 2 months. I called immediately to cancel. After cancelling, I discovered Budget Savers had already hit my credit card for $29.95 on December 22nd.  Their trial period is only 14 days! I haven't felt so ripped off in my life.
