We bought a Maytag Refrigerator last December and on October 15th, a Wednesday, it died and everything in the fridge with it! We called Maytag and they told us to call Platinum. Platinum tells us they can't come out before Friday; so on Friday repairman comes and he says he thinks there is a leak, but he can't check it, someone else has to do that. We ask, can he come on Monday, NO we have to wait till Wednesday! Wednesday comes and the guy can't fix it, it needs another part...great...another 5 day wait! So it's fixed the next time he comes???? NO! There seems to be a bad compressor, soooo we wait another three days for him to bring the compressor. Day after it is installed, the refrigerator dies again. Four repair calls and it's still not fixed and can't be.

We called Maytag, they asked if we want them to send another repairman? Really? Are you kidding! The first technician we had pretty much summed it up, we had a lemon, but when he called his supervisor, he was told to keep trying to fix it. What a racket! Maytag sells garbage, and contracts with service companies who just can't ever seem to fix the problem, they just keep coming back like a bad cold!   We were given a "product exchange" number this past Wednesday, November 5th and told we would be contacted today, November 7th to find out what the next step in the process would be. Did they call us....NO! We called them and were told that the person handling it was not there and we probably wouldn't hear anything until Monday! So I called another number, this time the customer service rep said, she sent an email marked "urgent" to see if we can get it expedited. I said we have been without a refrigerator for 21 days, why wasn't it marked urgent when the product exchange was entered on Wednesday? I asked to talk to a supervisor, I get Ashley, care solution manager, what a joke! She tells me that when you get a product exchange it can take three to five business days to hear from anyone. I asked her who was lying, she or the other two people we had already spoken with? I asked her to give me to someone with the authority to get us a refrigerator by this weekend, I was told she is the highest I can go. Maytag is just waiting for us to get desperate enough to replace the fridge ourselves and just go away. BEWARE OF MAYTAG! Their products AND service (or lack there of) STINKS!

    A few years ago we exchanged all our Kenmore products with Maytag.  Worst decision I have ever made.  The refrigerator ice maker no longer works, the dishwasher cuts on when the door is shut and never stops, the washing machine gets stuck on the wash cycle, and the dryer almost burned the house down.   What a waste of $4,000.
