Complaint Description:
Warranty direct has failed to honor the contract I paid for and denied my claim. On 04/30/2012 I purchased a vehicle repair contract from Warranty Direct. Since purchasing the vehicle from Warranty Direct my car has broken down. Following the guidelines of the contract, I contact Warranty Direct before I tow my car too a repair facility and I am advised to get the car to the facility and have them give them give Warranty Direct a call. The repair facility informs warranty direct that my car over heated from the A/C compressor seizing causing the loss of power steering, the water pump to fail and ultimately the engine to over heat, blowing the head gasket and causing damage to a cylinder head. Warranty Direct states that they will have to send out a inspector to view the vehicle. After five days of my car just sitting at the repair facility and me calling back and forth between the repair facility and Warranty Direct to get an update, Warranty Direct decides to O.K. the repair without the inspector. The repair facility begins working on my vehicle and sees that it is more damage than what was first stated to Warranty Direct. Instead of one cylinder its two and the repair facility advises that the engine should be replaced. After calling back and forth between Warranty Direct and the repair facility I'm informed the first findings are covered by my warranty but, Warranty Direct will not cover the engine replacement.Warranty Direct states that under the Exclusions E. ANY FAILURE RESULTING FROM COLLISION; INTERNAL OR EXTERNAL FIRE; THEFT; VANDALISM; RIOT; EXPLOSION; LIGHTNING; EARTHQUAKE; FREEZING; RUST OR CORROSION; WINDSTORM; HAIL; WATER OR FLOOD; ACTS OF GOD; SALT; ENVIRONMENTAL DAMAGE; CONTAMINATION OR LOSS OF FLUIDS, FUELS, COOLANTS OR LUBRICANTS.,G. ANY REPAIR OR REPLACEMENT OF A COVERED PART IF A FAILURE HAS NOT OCCURRED OR IF THE WEAR ON THAT PART HAS NOT EXCEEDED THE FIELD TOLERANCES PERMITTED BY THE MANUFACTURER., and K. REPAIRS TO SEIZED OR DAMAGED ENGINES DUE TO CONTINUED OPERATION WITHOUT SUFFICIENT LUBRICANTS OR COOLANT. YOU ARE RESPONSIBLE FOR MAKING CERTAIN THAT THE OIL AND TEMPERATURE WARNING LIGHTS/GAUGES ARE FUNCTIONING PROPERLY. YOU MUST PULL OFF THE ROAD IMMEDIATELY AND DISCONTINUE VEHICLE OPERATION WHEN EITHER OF THESE LIGHTS/GAUGES INDICATES INADEQUATE PROTECTION OR PERFORMANCE. of my contract they refuse to replace my engine. The car is a 2002 Saab 9-3.When I purchased the vehicle it had 73,232 miles when I purchased my warranty the car had 73,500 miles and now over a month and 1000+ miles exceeding my contract obligations Warranty Direct is failing to hold up to their part of the contract  agreement. When the car malfunctioned I was driving on the expressway at 65+ mph incapable of stopping immediately as the customer service manager for Warranty Direct stated that I should have done. In the process of changing lanes to exit the expressway the car dies out having to coast on to the exit ramp barely making up the exit the car stops rolling causing myself with aid from a passerby-er to push the car out of harms way on to the local street. Since it has not been started and running.
