Have not found any savings, after visiting their show room and filling out purchase form, they informed us 5 days later that the orignal product purchased for 630.50 would now cost us 980.50.  After adding on freight, handling and taxes this would be more than the local furniture dealer.  Have requested to cancel and refund membership, as no savings have been found, but they refuse.  Please advise of any steps that can be taken

    Gosh - we joined Direct Buy last Fall and have been more than happy with our membership and the service we receive.  The staff are terrific and we have saved a lot of money on cabinets, flooring, counter tops, appliances & such for our apartment. I was skeptical but have become a believer.  Only drawback we have found is that you can't touch, feel, or sit on furniture before you buy it.  The best way we have found to use our membership is to do our research at local stores and online, pick manufacturer, model numbers & such then just go order it. You don't save much on budget priced goods but we have been able to get MUCH higher quality for the same price that we would have paid for mid-range items. We have come close to saving our membership fee (which is hefty) already. No, I don't work for the company - just very happy with the decision we made.
