Not honoring cancelled tickets

Complaint

I was due to fly to Santa Ana, CA from Orlando, FL September 28, 2014.   On September 10 I got really ill and was forced to cancel this trip 9/11/2014 with Cheap Air representative Elneld ( I kept my paper work!).   She assured me at that time I would have a YEAR from the time I cancelled this reservation to re-use.    I have finally gotten to the point where I could travel again.    When I called Cheap Air just a few minutes ago to schedule a trip to Milwaukee, WS from 6/19 - 6/25 I was told I had to COMPLETE the trip by June 12 since the original trip was confirmed on 6/13/2014.     That is in direct conflict with what I was told last September.   In addition, the person I spoke with earlier today informed me that I would have to pay an additional fee if the fare exceeded the original air fare of $613.00.     Well, $613.00 is NOT a  cheap air fare but the representative told me that he wouldn't know what the difference would be until he started processing the ticket.   I was not willing to pay anything more for a ticket that I could make the same trip on through Southwest Airlines for less than $300.00.

This is the second time I have been gypped by Cheap Air but I can assure you it will be the last.    Their representatives give incorrect and false information which borders on being fraudulent.    I believe they should be called to task on this -- I am also going to make a complaint with American Airlines as to how this company (Cheap Air) treats their customers.   I know American Airlines is not at fault and certainly not responsible but they should stop doing any business with Cheap Air.

Barbara purchased tickets in June 2014 for travel in Sept, 2014. She contacted the AIRLINE USAIRWAYS TO CANCEL THE RESERVATION, not with CheapOair.com. Therefore what ever rules they told her did not come from us and apparently they misinformed her, or she misunderstood. At no time did our agents advise the tickets were valid 1 year from the cancellation date. Tickets are valid 1 year from the issue date...........when she called us on May 12, 2015 to use the tickets for a trip this June it was beyond the validity date. We did contact the airline on her behalf for an extension, and they denied it. Also when we cancel reservations, the  terms of the exchange period, are sent in an email to the customer, but there is nothing from us stating anything due to we were not the ones who canceled the booking, therefore never provided booking details. We have tried working with Barbara to secure new flights but at this time she hasn't made up her mind.

Terms and conditions  state the validity period on tickets.
