many items are falling apart after a few years

I purchases several thousand dollars worth of furniture for an office in 2006 and from the delivery until now things keep falling apart.  I have a round table that we used as a conference table and now I have it at my home.  The legs are falling off and the leather is splitting on  half the seat.  I have a leather couch twice as old and nothing wrong with it.  This is really crappy stuff.

What is everyone else doing?
