Yet another case of bad customer service by Europcar!
My husband and I returned our rental car 30 minutes before the location (Belfast airport) opened (in undamaged condition). Then, out of the blue, 2 weeks later we were charged £688 for a scratch. Europcar holds its customers accountable until they check the car in (which in our case was several hours after opening time of the location). They however neglect to inform you of their opening hours...
Requests for time-stamped photographic evidence were denied and it wasn't until we went through the BVRLA that we got a full response (although still no clear pictures). Europcar clearly doesn't value their customers. Even worse- they make a profit over the backs of their customers! Comparative quotes from local car repair companies came in at half the price Europcar is charging us.
We were also charged for loss of earnings, but the scratch was never repaired (the cynic in me thinks they'll probably charge it to the next unsuspecting customer).
A piece of general advice- make sure you take a lot of pictures after you return the car (we made the mistake of only taken 1 picture)
@Europcar- we truly hope that you take all the reviews to heart and improve your customer service.

    i work foe europcar ,wellnindid lol international antrim airport , theyre a bunch of cowboys ,ive seen myself them ad scratches to cars as they get £5 for every bit of damage they find ...they walk out home with arounr.d £300 a month just for damage they found .i worked in garage and seen this everyday almost and su.taff boast about it .use another company ,uve heard it from horses mouth guys :)
