My kitchen aide dishwasher has an electric panel from which to choose the cycle:  Heavy/Light/China/Rinse.  It became stuck on rinse.  We turned the unit off at the breaker-- probably at least 3 times, and waited.  No help.
A&E scheduled and came by: Yes, they told me that a service charge of $70 would be charged, and not applied to the cost.  Fine.

When the tech came, he opened the dishwasher and it worked fine.  Don't know why.  10 sec's in my home.  Still required the $70 fee.  I called Administration/Corporate and they said that the fee is for diagnosis and estimate.  Not required.

I refused to pay as it is unfair. This is a large corporation that is bilking the consumer.  No care except for the bottom line.  Very distasteful and unjust, in my opinion.

    obvious
The truck was at your house so the trip is charged. if you dont want to pay a trip charge then remove the dishwasher and bring it to a repair shop!   problem solved
