I just recieved 3 back to back calls on my co.phone and company cell by a heavy accented man. The only part I understood was that if I did not call him he could not help what was about to befall me.I call and he said there were three criminal charges pending against me and I needed to call Mr.Cooper, however that number now clicks off. He did have my last 4 digits of social security #.Now I am worried.

Typical fake "payday loan debt collection" phone extortion racket.

Callers are usually from overseas, often India or Pakistan.

Report to the FBI, and ignore their threats.

I just received a call too, today 9/1 from Indian or some guy but I am onto them now.  If you pay off one, they will call you for life.  They say they are calling from LLC law office a legitimate gove agency and they are coming to get you.  Yes they have your social and talk as though you have committed a grave crime.  Don't let them upset you.  The first two upset me so bad, I was in tears and send money.  Never, Never again will I do that.  They keep calling.  Just changing the name.

How did they have you send money?

    Western Union or Moneygram?
Prepaid Walmart debit card or other prepaid debit card?

Or did they process a charge against your bank account, or debit or credit card number?

If the latter, you can file a fraud dispute through your bank, and reverse the charge, as long as you do so within 60 days of the statement date of the statement showing the disputed charge, under FRB Reg. E or FCBA.  Be sure to close or block any account you provided to them, to prevent additional fraud.
