Billed for PPV with no telephone connection

After almost 20 years with DirecTV, we cancelled out account recently due to the inability to receive service to correct an equipment malfunction. Since then we learned we were being billed for 4 PPV movies from March/April 2009. We did not and could not order movies from DirecTV because we have not had telephone connection to the service for years, when we moved our television to a different location. This is a scam, and I'm contacting the State Attorney General's Office for assistance.
