After Sales Service a Sham.

I live in Coimbatore and have Dish TV since December 2007, all was well till Feb 2008.  The signal went down to 1% for some reason and it needed to be realigned.

I called Dish TV customer support they said that their service technician will be at my place within 48 hours. Its now 6 days since my fist call, I have been calling them daily and spending hours on hold and being disconnected many times and I get the same old story from them. Till today there is no sign of a service guy or any follow up call from Dish TV.

To top it all – Dish TV told me that their nearest service center is situated in another City - at Namakkal about 130 Km away from Coimbatore. I called Namakkal and they laughed at me. Naturally!!

A local electrician and an expert at Dish TV problems offered to do it for Rs. 200. ( he’s  apparently well aware of the lousy customer service Dish TV provides, and making a quick buck out of it.) . I called him and he was at my place in 15 minutes and realigned the dish in another 15 minutes.

So don’t forget to budget for expensive maintenance and long hours on the phone before you purchase your Dish TV.
And for heavens sake do not call DISH TV Customer care.

    i had problem with my setup box as per message appearing on screen. this was disclosed to network provider at office located at una HP. THE COUSTMER CARE ADVISED US TO CONTACT THE LOCAL DEALER. THE DEALER RESPONDED TO THE COMPLAINT AND THE SETUP BOX WAS TAKEN FOR REPAIR AND IN RETURN ANOTHER SETUP BOX WAS GIVEN TO US. AFTER ONE MONTH PASSED THERE WAS NO REPLY FROM THE LOCAL DEALER REGARDING THE STATUS OF THE ORIINAL SETUP BOX. AS THE ORIGINAL SETUP BOX WAS UNDER WARRANTY AND THE INLIEU GIVEN SETUP BOX WAS NOT GIVING GOOD RESPONSE THE LOCAL DEALER WAS CONTACTED IN THE SHOP. THE SALESMAN AT THE SHOP WAS NOT REPLYING TO THE QUERRY. HE SAID HE HAD NO IDEA ABOUT OUR COMPLAINT. HE WAS NOT READY TO CONTACT THE OWNER. THEN I ASKED FOR A RECHAGE OF Rs 300 FOR 3 MONTHS VALIDITY WHICH DONE BY THE SALESMAN. THERE WAS FRUSTRATION ON MY SIDE FOR NOT GETTING THE RESPONSE OF MY QUERRY AND THE SALSESMAN WAS SCOLDED FOR THIS. AFTER THIS I LEFT THE SHOP FOR MY HOME AS I HAD TO TRAVELL 17 Km. ON REACHING HOME I RECIVED CALL FROM THE OWNER THAT HE WAS DID NOT LIKE THE SALESMAN TO BE SCOLDED BY THE THE CUSTOMER. HE THEN SHOWING TOTAL DISRESPECT AND DISHONESTY TOWARDS HIS DUTY AS DISHTV DEALER ,SAID THAT HE WOULD TAKE AWAY HIS SETUP BOX GIVEN IN LIEU SAYIN THAT HE DID AS PART OF HIS COURTSY AND NOT DUTY.IT WAS VERY VERY SAD ON PART OF DISHTV TO GIVE DEALERSHIP TO PEOPLE WHO CANT KEEP THE IMAGE OF THE COMPANY. PEOPLE IN PLACE LIKE HAMIRPUR ARE FORCED TO BUY CONNECTIONS FROM KIRANA SHOP OWENERS.THERE IS NO AUTHORISED DEALERS HERE. AND WHEN I GET TO KNOW ABOUT A DEALER FROM UNA OFFICE HE BECOMES DADA AND SAYS DEALER CAN DO WHATEVER HE WANTS. IT IS VERY SORRY TO THAT MAIN OFFICE IN UNA CANT TAKE ANY ACTION IN THIS REGARD.

      I am here to share your frustration about dist tv network after 7 years.
      i have a same story related to yours personal experience.
      i requested to all the readers that please do not beleive on any reputed company, they may have fake promises.

    Viewing Card No. 01506546256.  Your services are very poor regarding the recharge of Dish TV. As per my knowledge the Dist TV recharges or Active service after 2 hour commencing from paid the recharge amount , but I have paid recharge amount on 16.04.2011 at 7 pm  till my TV has not active the services of Dish TV up to 10.40 PM on same date.Please active the services as early
