Almost hourly "dead air" calls for last 3 days
Complaint
C. Kraus
Country: United States
Since April 26th through today April 28, I have received a phone call from the number below almost every hour on the hour starting at 9AM Mtn Time.
I have called the number back and get some recording that says it is Net Research Services survey callback number. It appears to go to voice mail and I have left over 16 messages since the 26th to stop calling my number.
Emailed & submitted online form with FCC then called them and they said they can do nothing because it is a "survey" service and survey firms are exempt. They recommended I call my local carrier - QWest, to see if they can block the number.
I called QWest and they said they can't block long distance calls. They did say I can use the trace options (#57) and if I get three good/valid traces they will contact the company and let them know there are complaints. This costs $1.25 a trace and the automation trace will tell me if it is good or not.
What really sucks is that when you do a search on this firm "Net Resource Services" there is NO general company information to be found, so there is no way to write or email or call this firm to let them know how frustrating and annoying their "calling service" is. The only information I have found is:
Net Research Services
(617) 475-3027 This number is a landline based in Cambridge, MA and is unpublished.
Cambridge, MA
Carrier: intelius.com
Time Zone: 12:29 PM EST
County: Middlesex
Latitude: 42.37
Longitude: -71.11
When I receive the call all I get is clicks, volume increase/decrease, then dead air until a recording comes on to say that the number is invalid and to either contact the operator or try the number again.
If I call the caller ID number of 617 475 3027 - I get a recording stating this is Net Resource Services survey callback number, it beeps like going to voice mail - which I have left numerous messages and then disconnects.
I think I will try the Better Business Bureau next if the traces don't work. Someone, somewhere needs to stop this company!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Some complaints indicate some political message calls, supposedly "clean energy" anti-oil.
Autodialed calls with recorded messages are requiring to provide a contact means to stop them from calling. It appears their reply number does not actually work to stop their calls, so they are in violation of FCC regs.
Since they are in Massachusetts, file a complaint with the MA AG.
I'll bet there is a common denominator here, like a charity we have all given to? they hire companies like this to solicit for them. Earth Justice? World Wildlife Fund? UNICEF? We need to find out so we can contact their clients and get them fired.
Unfortunately, some of the Net Research calls appear to be routed through a Seattle area code (206), where our company is based. We've had complaints to us directly - but our company has nothing to do with Net Research Services. We don't make, and have never made, or have contracted with any sort of telephone based surveys.
I completely concur with your frustration - we've been left to deal with it as well. This group seems to be purposely difficult to contact.
My caller ID says they are coming through Colorado.
I filed a complaint with the Oregon State Atty General. There was another complaint already filed. I encourage you to file complaints with your own state. Many states have laws that require such companies to have an opt-out plan, or other laws about robo calling that they have broken. It's worth checking out.
