4 year service plan is not worth it

I bought LG 50" HDTV in 2005 with the 4 year service plan. Last month the TV died. A called LG to schedule an appointment. The appointment was scheduled for 6/13. I took a day off and waited for the repairman. He never came.
I called late in the afternoon to ask if he was coming, they said they don't see anything scheduled for us and scheduled the appointment for 6/20. I called prior to the scheduled day to make sure someone is coming. They now canceled my appointment because they were over booked or something.
We scheduled the service for the fist week of July. Again no one called me before coming, and I was right - they rescheduled my appointment again.
It's been a month and we still have no TV. I think with the days I had to stay home and wait for the repair guy the 4 year service plan turned out to cost me twice as much. I would be better of without it.
