Unhappy GM Customer with OnStar service

Onstar sent me a letter letting me know they are dumping all Onstar customers with analog devices.

The solution is for me to buy a new 2006 or 2007 GM vehicle and sell my current car, value of which has fallen as a result of this announcement. Onstar knew that this transition will take place in the near future but they didn't think it through and are not willing to make this transition for us more convinient.

I've been with GM vehicles for 20 years. I was a loyal customer and they just lost me. When I contacted them about this issue Onstar and GM offered  me $500.00 off a purchase of a new 2007 vehicle. Why would I buy another GM product after being treated this way? This is unacceptable.

Last evening my wife and I were returning home after a dinner with friends.  I first had a warning that my front left tire was low on air and I should get air soon.  Then there was a rumbling so I pulled into a parking lot and found out that my tire was flat.  I am 70 years old and my wife told me not to change the tire myself because we have road side assistance with OnStar.  We were able to contact OnStar right away and were put on hold while we were transferred to someone who could help us.  Then after a further wait we were told that someone would be at our location in 40 minutes, the time of arrival would be 6:22 pnm.  After a few minutes we got a text message saying that it would be a little more like 45 minutes.  At around 6:30 pm we got a call asking how the service call had turned out.  Since we had not gotten any service my wife was transferred to another person who asked us for our vehicle ID and they said they had no record of our vehicle.  Finally after my wife was put on hold several times she was told that two faxes came in at the sime time and someone thought that the second was only a copy and discarded our fax.  I got out of the car and managed to change the tire myself but found out that my spare was very low.  Then a kind man who worked at the U-Haul where we had pulled in took me home to get a pump to pump up my spare.  He helped me as we took turns pumping with a hand pump.  When the tire looked like it could at least be driven on I drove home.  By this time it was close to 8:00 pm.  I later discovered that some how while changing the tire my shoulder was injured.  It still hurts this morning.  My wife and I are not happy with the road side assistance provided by OnStar.
