constant repairs

We bought in 2011 been repaired 6 times under extended 5 year warranty all could have been expensive if no warranty lowest repair cost around $250.00 others much were much more, Now out of warranty needs 7 repair this time gearbox cost quoted $605.00 ,  total repairs are now 3-4 times cost what washer cost new. We are replacing this washer now  I cannot believe how poor of a product this was . Note matching dryer never had a problem.
