A&E is the worst company I have ever dealt with.  I have an extended warranty on my Kenmore washer.  It was making a loud roaring noise while spinning and my husband noticed it was leaking something oily.  We called A&E and made a appointment.  The technician that came out was from a company named Best Tech Mechanical.  He looked at the washer and said it needed a part replaced and he would order it.  He said that it would be fine to keep using the machine until the part came in.  A week and a half later the part came in and the same guy showed up to work on the machine.  He also had another technician with him to help.  They tore my washer apart about 2 hours later he proceeds to tell me that he had bad news.  The washer needs more parts to be fixed and now couldn't be used until the parts come in.  I was very irritated that he left my washer literally in pieces and didn't act like he even knew how to fix it.  He claimed that a screw was rusted and busted the tub.  He said he would order the tub and have it expedited in 3-5 days. So after 1 week of waiting with no part delivered I call A&E to check on the part and find out that the part was never ordered!!  I explain to them that the technician that came out was from Best Tech Mechanical and they tell me contact them!!  What the heck?  I thought that A&E handled the warranty repairs!  So I call Best Tech Mechanical and the lady said she showed that the part was ordered but it would take up to 2 more weeks for it to come in!  I was very frustrated at this point and explained to her what all had happened with her technician and she apologized for him telling me that it would be in that soon.  She said he should have never told me 3-5 days on a part like that.  I hung up with her and called A&E back.  They were absolutely of no help.  They said that Best Tech Mechanical was hired in my area for overflow work.  I explained to them that I did not want anyone from that company back at my house again.  2 weeks later I get a phone call from Sears (automated) wanting to remind me of a repair appt.  I thought that it was odd that they were coming and I hadn't received any part but I thought maybe that had it with them.  This time an A&E van pulls up and I was relieved to see a technician that I recognized. he had worked on my dryer before and performed well.  He walks into my laundry room and says "Wow.they have left your washer in pieces!"  I told him everything that happened and he said well I don't have a tub to fix your washer I was just here to fix another problem.  He looked at the previous repair order and said that the Best Tech Technician had actually closed out the repair work ticket like he had fixed the washer and it was a closed case.  At this point I was extremely mad and he said he was going to go out to his van to make a phone call to see what he could do for me.  He came back in about 10 minutes later and said he got nowhere..that they just told him to order the tub and fix my washer.  He said he told them that they should replace my washer with all the problems I have had but that they wouldn't do that.  He assured me that the tub would be in within 1 week and he would be there to fix it on Wednesday.  The parts were delivered by UPS this past weekend.  Today is Tuesday, 11/26/13.  I got a phone call on my cell phone from Sears around 4:00 reminding me of my appointment for tomorrow.  I was at work when I received the phone call.  Tonight at home I noticed I had a message on my home phone and checked it.  It was Sears.  They called at 2:30 saying that I needed to call them to reschedule my appointment!!   I called them and told them there must be some mistake...that they had called earlier on my cell number  to confirm my appointment.  Nope...not a mistake! They were canceling my appointment and wanted me to reschedule.  I told them that I was not rescheduling my Appointment...they had better send a technician to fix my machine, I have been without a washer for over a month.  He, just like all other operators was non-helpful.  He had no information why my appointment was cancelled or when someone could call me.  After I got nowhere my husband calls back and the operator he got said our appointment was cancelled because we didn't have all the parts to fix the machine.  My husband tells them that we do have them and proceeds to open the boxes and name all the parts to him.  He opens the box that the tub is in and it is broken in a million pieces inside!  There was absolutely no padding or anything around the tub inside this large box!  So now even if they could send a technician tomorrow it does us no good.  We have no tub!!!  I am beyond furious!  We will be contacting Sears District Manager tomorrow.  This has been an awful experience.

I had a similar problem about 3 years ago w/ my Kenmore Oven. It literally "BLEW" on Christmas Eve leaving me to cook for over 50 people w/ an electric Roaster for my turkey, borrowed another electric roaster for my ham, and made the rest in a countertop convection oven and my countertop microwave. The entire motherboard blew up. After research I saw a recall on all the models b4 and after my model but my model wasn't included (off of course by 1 digit at the end). I explained that mine had the same exact problem and that this was deemed an engineering flaw as the motherboard was in the back right where it gets hot w/ no fan to cool it down. That oven I paid over $900 and was only 2 yrs old, I too had an extended warranty from A&E and they did absolutely NOTHING but blow smoke up my rear. So on Jan 1st I went to home depot and found a new oven a Maytag. They didn't have it in stock (by now I was w/out an oven for 8 days and it would be about 3 weeks to get one in for pickup) . So I went to Lowes. They had the oven one step above in stock but not the one I truly wanted which was a lower end model (not by much) . but the higher end model was on sale and they also gave me the difference between the upper model and lower model for my inconvenience making the model I got even less expensive then the original lower priced model I was looking at. So in the end after a lot of getting ticked off etc decided #1 NEVER to buy from SEARS /KMART EVER again! I also now buy from Lowe's after shopping around elsewhere b/c they will always meet the price and their customer service is fantastic. I just bought today an over the range microwave to match my oven (my old GE was broken and being used for a fan only for about 5 years. another brand I won't buy as it lasted me only 2 years and came w/ my home) .
BTW- just out of curiosity what did the Sears District Manager do for you? I contacted mine who actually told me that's between me and A&E and then had the audacity to hang up on me when I was nothing but polite. Contacted Sears Corporate offices and got an appology but no other satisfaction b/c my oven wasn't on the recall list and was out of warranty even though I had the extended 3 year warranty and my oven was only 2 yrs old.

I am done with this company!  I am disgusted with the way I was treated when I brought my weed whacker in for service, 4 months into a two year warranty!  Do not waste your time and $$, this unit was expensive and turned out to be very cheaply made.  They hung up on me and passed the buck..and hung up some more ....just a total disappointment.
