Made Cancellation Difficult
Complaint

I tried to cancel over the phone. They said I will have to show up in person or fax something. Fax? Who faxes anymore? Everything is email or internet driven, and has been for at least 10+ years. I drove all the way down there to cancel and they said there is only one guy who can cancel you and he is not here. He will be back in 20 minutes. I was floored I have to wait 20 minutes to do something so simple. Then they said you can call and cancel- we'll make a special arrangement for you since you did show up. I drove home and then called at the time they told me to, and no one- no one would pick up the phone. It rang over and over and I got a "please stay on the line, we'll be right with you" recording. I listened to that for 15 minutes on my cell and then I used my VOIP phone at the same time to call the HQ to complain. They answered right away, and cancelled me on the phone. The local call was hung up on by the Oakley office, after no one answered for 25 minutes. Once you are a member, they hold on to you long after you want to stop the membership by being difficult. It was such a bad experience, I would not do business with them again unless they made some big changes.
