After much investigation I have discovered that this company operates in collusion with other companies who do business on the internet.  The so called "legitimate" company completes a transaction to your satisfaction, but then they slip your credit card information including name, address, etc. to Privacy Matters 1-2-3 who initiates what they call a "trial membership" on your behalf, then continue to charge monthly until you cancel. If you're not watching your credit card bills, the charge will go on indefinitely.

What you are describing is a fraudulent charge cramming scam.

Immediately contact your bank to dispute the charges as fraudulent, and have  your bank shut down your account or block your card number to prevent further fraud and theft.  Your bank can reverse charges back 2 to 3 months if you dispute promptly, under FRB Reg. E or FCBA.

To get back older charges, contact your state Attorney General for assistance.

Who was their "partner", who passe them your account information?
