Conductor misbehaving with lady passengers

I was traveling in a BMTC bus from hope farm circle to ITPL, since all the buses passes from ITPL, I take the bus without checking the bus numbers..so all I can give is time that I boarded the bus, that was around 9.45am. when I took the bus, conductors was sitting in the front single seat next to the front door, then he got up to give away tickets to the passengers..I saw the seat empty and I set there, the bus driver gave me a look but said nothing, after few minutes he comes to me and in very rude manner with hand gestures he commands me to vacant the seat for him, when I argued for that there's no reservations for anyone here, in return he commanded to get up more furiously, I couldn't take the insult and I got up from there, he set there and asked me to adjust with fellow lady passengers.
I come from Mumbai city, and over there, the front seat is reserved for physically disabled/challenged people..it's also written there for better understanding. Assuming the same I set there, as there were no physically challenged/disabled traveling in that bus.
Over here in Bangalore, there's no such reservation made for anyone that I have ever seen...the only thing that I have noticed is that, the front half of the bus is for ladies and the other half is for men...which is actually a very good thing, to avoid any behavior, but my question is about the conductors, how can he behave this way?
When I set there, the driver could have also inform me that you might will have to get up if he comes, that would given me a hands up, he said nothing, and waited for him to come and insult me. I am not against reserving a seat for conductors but it could be amongst men passengers, it's just fair this way.
It's just too easy for men to dominate lady passengers here, and they have no manners to talk.
